The selection of solids control equipment for different levels should depends on mud density, solids type and content, rheological property and rated capacity of each solids control equipment. Other than decanter centrifuge, the capacity of all other the solids control equipment should not be less than 1.25 times of maximum capacity of centrifugal pumps.

B, closed solids control system: the closed solids control system is an integrated unit where all the solids control equipment related are installed at the tanks to conduct a closed recycle treatment of drilling mud . The closed solids control system consists of two shale shakers with fine mesh, one desander and one normal shale shakerdecanting centrifuges installed downstream from two mud cleaners; one high-speed and a set of mun tanks with intercommunicating pore from each other that including three main tanks ,two storage tanks and one spare tank. This solids control system is characteristic by following advantages: large capacity for all kinds of unweighing mud, capable of maintaining the property of drilling mud, effective in solids-removal, needless to supplement water for mud especially applicable to water-stressed regions or offshore drilling, zero-emission of drilling mud avoiding environment pollution.
C, decanter centrifuge can be replaced by micro-hydrocyclones or added a micro-hydrocyclone before it to obtain more efficient operation and avoid massive loss of mud simultaneously.
