The working principle of vacuum degasser in solids control system

Gases are entrained in drilling fluids from the well bore during normal drilling operation as well as during “kick” or well control situations these gases present safety hazards and create operational problems, in event of hazardous gases being present, it is desirable to localize the point where gas is released from the mud by installing a vacuum degasser.
Regarding small amount of entrained gas in a drilling fluid, the vacuum degasser can play a major role of removing small bubbles that a liquid film has enveloped and entrapped. In order for it to be released and break out the air and gas such as methane, H2S and CO2 from the mud to the surface, the drilling fluid must pass degassing technique and it can be accomplished by the equipment called degasser which is also a major part of a mud system.

Vacuum degasser is used to remove the small entrained gas bubbles.  These units are positioned upstream from mud/gas separators, shale shaker and mud cleaner, while hydrocyclone and centrifuge follow in the arrangement.
The vaccum degasser design of the structure is scientific and rational. Use belt drive, to avoid the retarding mechanism of complicated, and guarantee that the trouble-free working hours is long.
The working principle of  vacuum degasser in solids control system:
Vacuum degasser ranks as the second stage of solids control equipment. The drilling mud that are separated by the first stage device — shale shaker flows into the setting compartment of the mud tank.
The drilled cuttings would settle into the setting pit, and the drilling fluids would flow over and into the second compartment. A sand pump would be used to pump the drilling mud from the second compartment up to the vacuum degasser,The drilling mud enters into the vacuum tank through the feeding pipe, and rotates by the rotor of the degasser, by the effect of centrifugal force, the drilling fluids would be threw to the inner wall of the vacuum tank, and the gases that migrate into the mud would be separated from the mud.
Vacuum layer would be generated by the vacuum pump that are mounted on the skid of degasser, so the gases that are separated would be pumped out to the water-gas separator by the vacuum pump and be discharged through the relief linepipe and finally be flared by the electrical ignition device at a place that are 60 to 80 meters away from the drilling rig.
