Shale shaker is the first class mud solids control facility in the solids control system for oil & gas drilling, which separates drilling chips from wells, so that the mud can enter the second class separating equipments.
Operating principle of the shale shaker

The shale shaker is designed according to vibration theory that rectilinear motion track will be produced on the screensurface. The perpendicular bisector between the two motors and the screen form an angle a. The running directions of the two excitation motors are opposite with excitation force created by the mutual movement. The excitation force will be mutually neutralized in direction of X, excitation force to be zero. While in the Y direction, the excitation forces are overlapped, causing the screen deck an upper and lower reciprocating motion in the direction of coordinate Y. At the same time, the mud on screen surface is thrown upward in direction of coordinate Y, moving forward while falling. Through this way, the mud moves forward through heaving up and down movement, and the mud will be leaking into mud tank through the screen while larger particles are sifted out. In this way the fluids has been purified.
GEM ZJS series shale shaker can be used alone or combined with two or more. Mud pipelines are made according to the user’s requirements.
The regulating of the deck angle of the shale shaker
When mud discharging quantity is too much, or escaping because of higher viscosity, the screen deck angle should be regulated. The best angle is that one can prevent mud from escaping. The screen deck angle can be discretionarily regulated during -1°, 0°, 1°, 2°, 3°, 4°,5°, 6° ,7°,8°.
While adjusting, take off the pin first, then push the pump with hand to add pressure. The movement of the hydraulic cylinder will change screen deck angle. When the regulation finishes, the shaker will not resume its work until the bolt pin is inserted While the screen is in its operation, the mud should cover 3/4 of the screen surface. If the covered area is not up to the standard, it indicates that the screen mesh is too thick. Thin screens should be replaced for a better purifying result.
