Oil base mud(OBM ) provide a number of advantages to the drilling process. However one drawback of OBM is it’s environmental liability. The majority of water based muds are mostly comprised of environmentally benign components. such as: fresh water,bentonite and calcium that can be easily disposed of. OBM has more complex issures. OBM is both costly to purchase and costly to dispose of the residuals. In order to maximize the recovery of OBM and minimize the waste disposal volumes,cuttings produced while drilling with OBM must be processed or ” dried “.

OGEM Solids Control has developed a effectively Vertical cutting dryer to work with solids control equipment to achive this.  In a continuous process, drill cuttings which are coated with OBM are collected by screw conveyor. and then feed to  Vertical cutting dryer to recovery the useful fluids and reduce the volume of waste. The dried solids are diverted to a  cutting bi for dispoal. the fluids is then fed into a powerful centrifuge and a significant amount of OBM recoverd and returned to the active mud system. OGEM vertical cutting dryer has proven to reduce oil content to less than 3%,by weight, Its high capacity design is suited for many drilling conditions.OGEM vertical cutting dryer fixed with individual oil lubrication system with automatic alarm for pressure limit. The main motor and oil pump motor is interlocked with each other for avoiding the start of the main motor prior to the start of the oil pump motor.
