Pick up pump in mud recycling system

Shortly before, an India client inquired us for a mud cleaning system which including a pick up pump, but he did not tell us he will use this system for what kind of drilling. However, we could deduce that this system is absolutely not for oil drilling. From the reply of our client, we got to know that this system is for a water well drilling.

Why could we deduce that this is not a mud cleaning system for oil drilling. We could talk from the application of the pick up pump. In some drilling project, pick up pump is always used to pick up the mud from the mud pool to the shale shaker for the first stage solids control treatment. The mud is transferred from the low place to the high place. However, during the oil drilling, the drilling mud will overflow from the tube installed on the oil derrick to the system under the power of gravity, for the height of the headframe is higher than the mud cleaning system.

OGEM SY series submersible pump is structured of single stage and single sucking with cantilever, pump impeller is of semi-unshrouded impeller with stirring vane equipped at the extended location of impeller’ vane. The main characteristics of the pump are that the pump shaft under water has enough rigidity, with bearing not equipped between impeller and pump body. And with bearing encapsulation not adopted, it can convey medium containing solid particle with bigger concentration. The pick up pump is also used as the feed pump to the decanting centrifuge.
